Aaron, at this time, while the Kindle application is definitely catching up, Stanza still has more application downloads overall and more reviews. And while Kindle is a hot download right now, Stanza has been one of the top free applications for much longer (and it's also been at the top). I guess what I'm saying is that the Kindle app hasn't been the knock-down champ Amazon might have hoped they were releasing. Stanza is still a strong competitor.

Stanza:
average 3 star, 32603 ratings

Kindle:
average 3 Star, 19623 ratings

Also, the user feedback for Stanza is pretty glowing, compared to some reviews for Kindle, like "Bowlofsurreal" who says, "This is ok, but it won't replace Stanza or eReader for me."

- Michael

Michael, I'm puzzled by your comment that Stanza is more popular than Kindle on the iPhone. What's the source for that? In the iTunes app store, sort the "books" category by popularity and Kindle is listed as the top free app with Stanza in 2nd place. I think this deal may have more to do with extending beyond the iPhone platform, say to Blackberries and Palm Pres...
